I am the owner and MD of Medical Record Collation (MRC), an industry leader specialising in the collation and analysis of medical records for clinical negligence, personal injury and abuse claims. I’m a former nurse with 25 years of experience working in a major acute NHS teaching hospital in the North West. I began collating medical records and preparing medical chronologies/summaries in 1998, and ten years later MRC was born. Following this, I left nursing to concentrate on developing and growing the business full-time, during which time we moved from my back bedroom to the large modern premises we now occupy in Altrincham, Cheshire. My wealth of clinical expertise has proved critical in helping MRC to build a nationwide reputation for delivering a fast, reliable and high-quality service. Having worked in the industry through times of key changes I remain committed to not only providing an outstanding service but also in helping to achieve the best outcome for the injured client. Patient safety lies at the heart of what we do, and is a subject that I’m particularly interested in. Fundamental to this are candour, a continued move from blame to learning, listening, safe staffing levels, a well-trained workforce, early resolution of claims and greater collaboration. Not one to rest on my laurels, I am a founding member of PAGE (Pagination Accredited Group of Experts) and was recently elected as chair. This association was established by four industry leading firms within the pagination sector – its purpose being to promote professional standards and best practices in the preparation of medical records for use in litigation. As busy out of work as in it, I love to spend time with family and friends. Amongst other things, I enjoy tennis, cycling, walking, swimming, books, films, theatre, travel and food (cooking and eating!).
