As the Sport Manager for Track Cycling I lead the planning and delivery of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Track Cycling competition, and participate in the planning and delivery of relevant Test Events.I was GOLDOC’s primary representative in relation to all aspects of competition planning and delivery, and contribute to operational planning for relevant Training Venues, and am responsible for ensuring the competition ran smoothly and in accordance with applicable international and Games-wide requirements and standards. I regularly liaised with relevant internal and external stakeholders during event planning and delivery, and will lead and manage the Sport team on site throughout the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games operational period, and relevant Test Events. I was be the Sport Department’s senior representative on venue at Games Time. It was my responsibility as Sport Manager to liaise with the UCI (including UCI representatives attending the Games) and the appointed Technical Delegate regarding all UCI technical and other requirements in regard to competition.I managed GOLDOC’s relationship with Cycling Australia (National Federation) including the implementation of responsibilities under the Memorandum of Understanding between parties, and work closely with Cycling Australia in regard to planning/delivery of competition, and liaison with Cycling Queensland (State Federation) as required.
