Developed, designed, and implemented, a commercial web site for a Llama and CVM Sheep farm in northeast Iowa. Website incorporates a Content Management System (CMS) that integrates with Facebook to allow the farm to more interact with their clientele. The farm utilizes CMS to promote the additions to their herds, placings in livestock shows, the sale of llamas and sheep, in addition to marketing the fiber produced by the herds.

Coauthored a handbook for professional and student writersthat addresses the mechanics of document preparation with anemphasis building on fundamental communication practices todevelop habits of professionalism and attention to detail. Discussedare image management, considerations of page and screen design,integration of supporting information (charts, tables, graphs, etc.),and strategies to prepare documents that function effectively intheir intended context of use. Responsibilities included majority of layout and design, copy editing, and authoring areas of text that focus on design issues and imaging. Design required that it be presented as an eBook that the user could print out as needed for reference.The Writing Professionals’ Toolkit is presently in-press with Pearson Publishing.

Apple Creek Alpacas received an eMail that their hosting company had closed and that they had until June 30 2011 to transfer their domain registration and move their site. The hosting company had not given them access to their files or released the domain. I unlocked the domain and initiated the transfer to a new registrar and manually copied the code and images from her old site, which thankfully was still working — it wasn't 2-days later. Yesterday, June 30, we had her site working again on a new host with her domain listed at a new registrar.In addition, I repaired broken links in the HTML coding.

Currently provide freelance editorial support, responsibilities include copy editing, fact checking, and documentation, assurance of conformation to publication style sheets for three publications. Actively participated in the production of two catalogs, consisting of 300 or more pages, that provide readers with secondary market information. Was required to ensure accuracy of pricing, correct item title, correct item manufacturer/artist number, conformation to publication style. Worked primarily in Adobe InDesign CS2 & 3 but also utilized Microsoft Excel and Word.

Designed and implemented a web site documenting the historyof Black Hawk County www.cedarnet.org/tour/. Site is comprised of 200 individual pages with links to an additional 200 maps, graphics, and photographs while serving on HTML Committee at CedarNet Inc., a local Internet Service Provider, also responsible for developing web pages and maintaining existing pages.

Took leadership role in redesign of journal, as the senior editor of Inner Weather 2005, a student literary publication, to better highlight contributor’s work. Implemented a new blind selection process for greater judging objectivity. Also, responsible for project management and implementation of schedules, quality assurance, and production.
