Throughout the 2-year program, I was given the unique opportunity to work in three distinct areas of Capital Group's technology organization, each for an 8-month rotation.Data Engineer - Enterprise Data Platform:• Wrote custom, business-logic based PySpark processes to support new cloud-based data platform, transforming our existing SQL-based ETL pipelines to be optimized for cloud infrastructure• Contributed to the development of a PySpark job execution framework to be used by all teams across the Data Engineering group• Developed end-to-end data pipelines, taking data from a delimited file to Parquet to external tables to physical tables• Developed user-ready, proof-of-concept web app in 8 weeks to enable users to see list of potential clients and reasons to contact them. • Designed and built web-based portal using ASP.NET framework to execute automated functional tests for applications and view reporting for executions, allowing real-time updates in testing results• Integrated the web portal with existing testing framework including several REST APIs and multiple databases using AJAX, Javascript, and Entity Framework• Introduced the web portal to senior leaders both within and outside the testing organization• Designed a program in R to traverse a graph and find unique paths more efficiently than a random graph walker, supporting a larger effort to use machine learning to automate regression testing
