Project assignments include: Project Manager for Architect/Engineer technical services contracts with FEMA in Washington DC (2004-2008); Field Construction Engineer for a ConocoPhillips refinery expansion project in Rodeo, California (2008-2009); Proposal Manager for project pursuits with government and commercial clients (2009-2010); Project Engineer for a gasification project during FEED Phase (2010 - 2011). In mid-2011, took on current assignment in Talent Development, supporting employee development and training for the Western U.S. offices which has an employee base of approximately 1,300 employees.

Augusta, Georgia

Fluor is the constructor for two new nuclear power plants in Waynesboro, GA, outside of Augusta, the first nuclear plants being built in over 30 years. Recently completed field assignment as the Director of Organizational Performance, working with our Client, Westinghouse; and Owner, Southern Nuclear Company on this historic project, estimated at ~$14B+. Worked with the project leadership teams on continued team building and alignment efforts to enhance collaboration and gain efficiencies in construction.

Tarrytown, Ny

On assignment in New York supporting the Tappan Zee Bridge replacement project as the Director of Organizational Development. Primarily responsible for increasing organizational effectiveness of the 4-company design/build construction team for this $3.1B lump sum project just north of New York City (of which Fluor Corp. is the managing partner). Lead partnering efforts aimed at enhancing contractor / client relationships. Have conducted multiple team alignment, team building, and conflict resolution sessions with the project team. Facilitate communications and supervisory skills training with the 200+ staff organization. Also provide one-on-one career coaching with high potential employees, managers and the project leadership team.

As a Peace Corps Volunteer in Siguatepeque, Honduras, worked with the local office for SAANA, the Honduran agency responsible for providing potable water throughout rural Honduras. Conducted feasibility studies, topographic surveys, and engineering designs; prepared budget estimates; and managed the construction of gravity-fed potable water systems to deliver clean water to almost 1000 families. Organized and conducted training (in Spanish) for three 3-day workshops covering the operation, maintenance and administration of water systems and watershed management for community-based water boards. Also developed and delivered three 2-day workshops concerning Disaster Mitigation for the local police force, the Community Development office of the Siguatepeque Municipality and the local chapter of the Red Cross.

Served as a Project Engineer in support of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Managed the production and revision of flood hazard maps for 10 states in the west and mid-western U.S. Coordinated flood hazard studies with members of FEMA’s regional offices, local floodplain administrators and engineering contractors.

Worked as an Assistant Engineer on a A/E contract that provided FEMA with flood hazard analysis and mapping services in support of the NFIP. Provided engineering review for the revision of the flood hazard maps.
