As an independent advisor I worked primarily with new, high growth and developing brands essentially as a CMO for hire. My work ranged from high level advisory, to strategic project leadership, to workshop facilitation and transitional team leadership. Clients included: Aritzia, Hold It All, Reigning Champ, MEC, B.A. Robinson and Turf. During this time I also undertook one of the most challenging roles of all and became a mother of three including my stepson, daughter and son.

I had the opportunity to build and grow the core functions of Marketing at Aritzia from the ground up. We started as a team of less than 3 and grew to over 50 talented individuals across a number of departments. I oversaw the entire marketing portfolio inclusive of Brand, Digital, Retail Environments, PR/Influence in addition to a fully developed internal design agency (inclusive of Creative and Production). A member of the executive team throughout my tenure, I began with Aritiza when the organization was only 10 Canadian stores and about $40M in revenue. When I left the organization 8 years later we had completed an equity transaction, expanded into the US, introduced ecommerce and grown to over 50 stores and $400M in revenue.

Long before founding Lululemon, Chip Wilson created the iconic snowboarding apparel brand, Westbeach. After taking a year and a half to travel solo and develop leadership skills as a mountaineer, I returned to Vancouver and took a role as the head of marketing for Westbeach.

Throughout my tenure at P+G I worked in the Beauty Care division on global brands such as Olay. I worked cross category including cosmetics, skin care, hair care and bath. Though I benefited enormously from the foundational training that came from P+G - both in terms of owning the P+L of a business and the fundamentals of brand - I spent the majority of my time in New Business Development. Both in Cosmetics and Hair Care I was responsible for the initiation and development of new brands from concept to market entry and expansion.
