I learned to read and write early. My sister was in teacher's college for elementary teaching: I was her guinea pig. I became a book worm and prolific journal keeper. English was my favourite class.Naturally, I became a journalist. I learned to tell stories first through newspaper pages and subsequently, as a television producer, through a television screen. My skills evolved again when 10+ years ago, I moved into Communications and Marketing. Then came social media. More evolution was required.So here's a highlight of the skills I have acquired: I can tell meaningful, message-driven stories with words, pictures and video. I can communicate effectively in tweets, marketing materials, speeches, annual reports, and anything else you throw at me. I think strategically and plan accordingly. I love plans. I love lists. I am not afraid of deadlines. (Nothing cures you faster of this fear than running a live television talk show, being on air and having your guests cancel.) I am creative because my brain needs to play.I am sociable, so I work very well on a team and love leading a team. I know how to sell your stories to journalists because I was a journalist.I have great ideas -- and I make them happen. I am an expert juggler. With tasks and competing priorities, anyway. Oh -- I also write well.
