I always trade Futures and Forex on the basis of classical chart patterns, particularly on larger time frames.I believe that the cycle theory and the harmonic analysis is the only thing that we can rely upon to ascertain future price projections. Mathematical science, which is the only real science that the entire civilized world agreed upon, furnishes unmistakable proof of history repeating itself in the financial markets as an explanation of the underlying price structure of supply and demand forces in the financial markets.For short-term trades, I use harmonic patterns, Candlesticks, high probability trading zones, demand and supply zones, chart patterns, Fibonacci Retracements/Fibonacci channel and Fibonacci price projections (all modified by me) not only the original one, with the combination of some mathematical calculations like arithmetic progression and the geometric series with the help of my own software.I don’t use indicators/Oscillators and moving averages to generate signals. because these are lagging indicators. It will bring nothing to your portfolio. So, follow or create a complete system for great survival. look for the big picture, because the intra-day pattern fails most of the time. Sometimes I use the (RSI) Relative Strength Index to check a possible bullish and bearish divergence And I use Elliott wave principles to forecast the underlying price structure (not as a signal generator) with the help of Motive Wave software. I believe that the Elliot wave principle is not a trading methodology but it's a very good forecasting tool to check where are we now and where should be in the future. I pay less attention to fundamental indicators. And surely no attention to the so-called fundamentals macro/micro analyst (crying nonsense) of CNBC, CNN & Bloomberg, etc.Salman Mujtaba
