• Providing and rationalizing high-level direct tax and regulatory (FEMA, Stamp Duty and SEBI) implications on a restructuring exercise.• Representing the assessee during income-tax assessment proceedings viz. penalty cases, CIT (Appeals) and regular year on year assessment.• Managed and advised a high-net worth USA based client to submit their undisclosed income under the BM (Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets) and Imposition of Tax Act, 2015, thereby befitting both the client and the Government of India.• Headed the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) assignment for a NBFC and Financial Services firms• Assisted the tax manager in extensive tax and regulatory research projects and prepared detailed memos on the same – in relation to Real Estate Investment Trusts, Alternative Investment Trusts, Repatriation of funds from India and restructuring solutions.• Prepared compounding applications under FEMA to be submitted to the RBI on behalf of the client.• Contributed efficiently on a tax retainer client having multiple group companies to assist and resolve issue pertaining to tax and regulatory for a NBFC on a monthly basis.
