Network Engineer from an academic standpoint, Sergio started his career in 2008, always working within Technology Risk and Information Security domains. He has had the chance to work in Europe and USA across different tier 1 companies, facing top enterprise challenges and learning and collaborating with the best experts in the industry. Sergio is a multidisciplinar professional with one simple goal - Help the organization and relevant stakeholders advocating for an efficient and effective risk management and information security practice. Currently Sergio is working for the Privacy and Data Protection team at Twitter leading the Risk Management function, helping to identify, assess, monitor and mitigate most critical Privacy and Data Security risks.With Akamai, one of the most advanced technology companies, he was supporting different teams to meet customer, regulatory and internal expectations from an Information Security Compliance standpoint (e.g. PCI and SOC2) for the newest and most sophisticated emerging technologies (e.g. BlockChain, Bot Manager). Akamai is changing the way internet works and Sergio has been supporting this goal, contextualizing needs and ensuring fruition. For Santander Bank (US), he has been supporting Management (e.g. CTO, CIO, CISO, etc) and Technical teams (e.g. Platform, Cyber, Network, End-user, App, etc.), to address most relevant Technology Risks across different US entities and leading different local and global risk and compliance programs to mitigate them, in order to meet entities risk appetites, according with all regulatory commitments (e.g. GLBA, SOX, DFS500, Corporate Policies, etc.) and Enterprise goals, within complexity of one of the largest global financial entities in the world.As consultant, he has worked 7 and a half years in Big 4 companies (Ernst & Young and Deloitte), supporting customers from all type of industries (e.g. Financial, Insurance, Products & Services, Oil & Gas, Government, etc.), acting as auditor and/or advisor, managing teams and customer relationship, ensuring proper end-to-end projects/services (e.g. CyberSecurity Strategy, Cyber Maturity Assessments, Privacy, Critical Infrastructure, Business Continuity, SOX, etc.) delivery and meeting financial, teams, quality, customer and Management expectations. Sergio has complemented his academic background with recognized professional certifications (e.g. CISSP or CRISC) and advanced training (e.g. Harvard Cloud Security) to uplift his soft and hard skills.
