Pioneered the formation of Analysis Based Combustion (ABC) Team and Roadmap for the team in late 2014/early 2015 in Doosan Babcock Limited. For the first time in Doosan-Babcock History, we have developed (A team of three Engineers, including Dr Ik Soo KIm, Dr. Sangpil Jo and I) two very low NOx burners, one for general High/Medium volatile PF combustion and the second for High Moisture Coal (HMC) PF combustion using first principles of flame design for low NOx burner using numerical methods (including CFD). These two projects took less than two years from Concept Design to Pilot/Large Scale testing saving the company millions of pounds (usual Burner Development using traditional approach takes at least a decade and tens of millions of pounds). HMC Coal Burner Concept to Pilot testing took only 7 months, which is a record and a great achievement in the Babcock OEM history and the total costs was below 0.5 million pounds. Above all, changing the current Burner OEM development practice from traditional know-how driven approach (expensive as well as lengthy) to a fundamentally based numerical approach is a significant achievement for me and the company in general.In addition to the above achievement, I am a CFD code developer with expertise in Pollutant and Combustion modelling. In depth knowledge of Power Plant Modelling, including wall fired, T-fired (lignite) and Downshot (anthracite) furnaces.
