Salvador Flores Torres, Ph.D. Email and Phone Number
In my role as a Senior Scientist at Lonza, I am tasked with designing, evaluating, and implementing new technologies to enhance the functionality of the Cocoon Platform.During my PhD journey at McGill University, I gained extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in immuno-oncology, 3D bioprinting, and the development of soft biomaterials. I specialized in engineering controlled tissue-like constructs to monitor T cell cytotoxic activity against cancer cells derived from patients.Additionally, I pursued a minor in Biomedical Instrumentation and Clinical Engineering, specializing in the design of medical devices and the implementation of clinical systems. This dual expertise provides me with a comprehensive understanding of both technical and clinical aspects in biomedical engineering, enabling me to spearhead innovation in healthcare technology.Outside of work, I find joy in endurance-related activities such as long hikes and long-distance running. I also enjoy working on small projects that involve integrating 3D printed parts, sensors, actuators, and microcontrollers.
