This is a temporary role assisting the Energyworks Project at Citizens Advice. This project is helping people afford their gas and electricty bills during the cost of living crisis.My principle role is to assist with the administration of the project and help individuals in accessing grants and other assistance to pay for their energy bills.

I spent 3.5 years working in the Metropolitan Police Service in London as a police constable. I began training in Hendon in January 2020 where I was provided with the basic legal knowledge and practical skills required to police effectively. I excelled in my study of the law and police procedure and received the award for Top Student as a result. Upon completion of my training and achievement of Independent Patrol Status I was then attached to a Safer Neighbourhood Team for 6 months. I learnt the basics of community policing and was given responsibility over my wards outstanding arrest warrants for the duration of this time. I also gathered intelligence for, applied for, and executed two search warrants and a complex closure order on three squats during this time.After 6 months I went to an Emergency Response and Policing Team in Southwark and was responsible for attending 999 and 101 calls to police for approximately 3 years. I responded to a vast array of incidents: domestic abuse; mental health emergencies; serious assaults and murders including stabbings and gang violence; major and critical incidents; serious road traffic collisions; serious sexual assaults and high risk missing people. I also developed my skills by undertaking further training such as Level 2 public order training and taser training and was regularly deployed to major events such as football matches, the Queen's funeral and the King's Coronation. I did attachments to various units to broaden my experience such as working on secondary investigation and case handling in the Case Progression Unit and My Investigation Support Teams and handling the reporting of missing people and working closely with the Ops Inspector in the Local Resolution Team.In my last 3 months I worked in the Violent Crime Taskforce, a specialist proactive unit targeting knife crime and high harm robbery offenders across South London before deciding to leave the police and pursue law.

I was a self-employed private EFL tutor in the Guildford area whilst I was waiting for my start date to join the police.During this time, I advertised and marketed myself to find prospective students and taught a range of one-to-one classes at various levels, both in-person and via Skype. I also assisted students in their preparation for IELTS exams and they were successful in achieving the required score to be admitted to a UK university as a result of this tuition.

I initially began teaching intensive summer programmes at MDA college. I taught classes to a mixed age range of teenage students from various countries who would stay in the UK for several weeks to improve their English language skills. I also helped organise or run some extracurricular activities for the students whilst they were in the UK.After a successful summer programme, I then worked for MDA college the following year and taught both the regular adult classes and the summer intensive programme for teenagers. I also did some one-to-one teaching during this time to assist students with exam preparation or specific areas they needed to develop such as fluency or pronunciation.

I worked as a bartender at The Cosy Club Bath over the summer whilst at university. My main roles were to open and close the bar, run the bar and coffee service during busy services and make drinks and cocktails for the restaurant.This experience gave me practical experience in how to interact with people professionally and personably in a sales context. I also developed multitasking skills and the ability to work well in a busy, pressurised environment.

I taught the grammar and speaking skills classes 2 days a week for university students at Moscow State University whilst I was studying in Russia.These classes were generally intermediate or higher intermediate and focused on preparing the students to pass their university English exams as well as giving them more holistic language preparation if they wanted to work in English-speaking companies.

I worked as front of house staff in All Bar One Bath over the summer whilst at university.This experience taught me how to work in a busy environment and focus on good, professional service. I also learnt basic sales and marketing techniques and was frequently successful in our monthly sales competitions that focused on a particular item or drink. I eventually began to work more on the bar and coffee service and worked as a bartender for my final month before moving to Russia.I also gained experience in opening and closing the bar and restaurant and gained an insight into how businesses are run and managed.

I began teaching English at Berlitz after completing my Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults in the UK.I taught a huge range of classes for a range of levels and functions whilst at Berlitz and this experience created the foundation of practical experience for my future teaching, presenting and public speaking roles. I taught all age groups from children as young as 8-years-old to retired businessman. I taught both individuals, small group classes and on one occassion a 100 person seminar at a major Japanese corporation. I also taught every level from absolute beginners with no English-speaking ability to advanced speakers who needed specialist business language or were preparing for examinations.
