I am an honest, trustworthy, and very conscientious person, achieving A-levels in Physics, Computer Science and Biology and 10 GCSEs. When I set out to achieve something I put in all my effort and bring a creative twist to team environments. I also work well solo, keeping myself on task and well-motivated. I have completed my Gold Duke of Edinburgh. I particularly enjoyed the expedition section, especially the planning of the route, as I have a keen interest in map reading skills. The comradery of the actual hike was nothing like I’ve ever experienced before; it was such hard work, but well worth all the effort. I have been involved in scouting since 2012 and am currently in Network and working my way towards my Kings Scout Award. I have also been volunteering at the local cub pack since 2019 and have been asked to take a role of leadership there. Along with this I have also done voluntary work at Lower Moss Wood Animal Sanctuary. Additionally, I have a keen interest in the environment, a love of wildlife and the outdoors; which I have further pursued, going on a month-long volunteering trip to Costa Rica and The Galapagos Islands in August 2024. Taking part in numerous ecological projects such as reforestation and beach cleaning, helping the local communities by building a number of paths allowing easier access for day-to-day jobs, assisted in the creation of a community green house, built retaining walls to protect infrastructure from landslides, painting and general upkeep/preservation of local community buildings. To fundraise for this trip a friend and I ran a tuck shop from September 2022 to June 2024, through which I have learned many business skills and lessons about running a small business including finance management and how to delegate and communicate. I am also very keen on staying fit and healthy as I love hiking, bouldering and resistance training.
