As head of the Health Service, I ensure that accurate, up-to-date and relevant information is available to enable the Management Committees of the institutions carry out environmental analysis necessary for planning; assist the 4 General Managers of the area health institutions in developing long term, medium term and short term plans for their institutions; develop, in collaboration with 4 General Managers, strategies for the accomplishment of objectives of the institutions; ensure the consolidation of the various plans developed by the institutions into a Master Plan; co-ordinate the planning activities of the institutions; establish Monitoring Systerm capable of giving the alert on deviations in the implementation of plans to ensure that remedial action is taken; carry out periodic monitoring of the progress of the plans to ensure conformity with agreed activities, strategies etc.; carry out an evaluation of each plan to ensure that goals have been achieved; compile and analyse reports from Area Boards for review by the National Committee on Health and Environment and eventual submission to the Church' General Assembly; liaise with Planning Unit of the Ministry of Health to ensure that planning objectives of the Church's institutions are in line with government policies and objectives; etc.

As General Manager, I ensured the efficient implementation of the policies and decisions of the Area Board and effective utilization of resources and facilities of the area health institutions; operated as Chief Advisor to the Area Board in all matters affecting the performance of the institutions; programmed, budgeted, monitored and evaluated all the activities of the institutions; coordinated the work of all institutions under my jurisdiction in order to promote their efficient and effective performance; etc.

At the hospital, I ensured the efficient and effective utilization of resources and facilities of the institution; programmed, budgeted, monitored and evaluated all the activities of the hospital; coordinated the work of all units within the hospital in order to promote their efficient and effective performance; directed the review of budgetary estimates periodically to reflect anticipated changes in revenues and expenditure; formulated specific, concrete and measurable targets for each department within the hospital and developed indicators to enable a department's performance to be measured; established and maintained a procurement system; kept the General Manager current on all developments affecting the hospital; directed and supervised the development of functional job descriptions for managerial and operating personnel in the hospital; ensured that a comprehensive assessment of training needs and manpower development were prepared and tailored to the needs of the hospital; ensured the provision of resources and facilities for the training and development of the human resources; etc.
