Responsible for strategic implementation of end-to-end IT services for TVA Nuclear that aligns with business objectives and initiatives for achieving top industry performance. Leads multiple efforts and projects that include evaluation, design, development and delivery of technology solutions, through collaboration within IT and the nuclear industry.Noteworthy projects include new applications and infrastructure that remediates outdated and inefficient technology for plant chemistry, engineering, security in-processing, and key performance indicators. Other projects include custom software developed for performance improvement initiatives in nuclear accredited licensed operator training.

Served as manager, NERC Regulatory & Operations Training, where I was responsible for training of NERC Certified System Operators to ensure they were adequately prepared to operate the TVA power system in a safe, reliable, compliant and cost effective manner. This training program met multiple new NERC regulatory requirements in 2013. I directed a team of experts to redesign the existing training program including the addition of a simulator and regional system restoration exercises. SERC recognized these efforts as “one of the best” in the 2012 TVA audit. One of my most notable external achievements while serving in the position was my role on the NERC standard drafting team that enhanced and revised training for current system operators and new requirements for personnel supporting the operation of the bulk electric system. This team collaborated with industry stakeholders to achieve consensus leading to NERC board approval and meeting the directives issued by FERC.Prior to this management roles I was a NERC Certified System Operator for over 10 years.

Licensed reactor operator at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant.Responsible for on-shift plant operations of Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, particularly safe and efficient operation of the reactor and turbine generator systems in accordance with NRC requirements and plant procedures.Responsible for ensuring compliance with plant license technical specifications.Responsible for maintaining knowledge of plant system operations, design modifications, licensing requirements, industry events and INPO SOER through license requalification training.Supervised and coordinated work activities of the Assistant Unit Operators including training in technical aspects of plant.Coordinated and planned work activities with maintenance and outage groups to ensure safety of the plant during refueling outages and reliability during full power operations. Multiple responsibilities and independent assignments during refueling outages include but not limited to: shutdown/startup of reactor and generating unit, electrical board maintenance, clearance coordinator, mid-loop operations, diesel generator/loss of offsite power tests, and refueling operations.
