Since leaving school, I have always worked. This work includes a range of different skills from customer service to labouring on a work site. My current position as a Warehouse Manager has been both challenging and inciteful. I have faced quite a few challenges during this time and believe I have handled them in a high quality, professional way. Without a handover from the previous manager, I was forced to teach myself the ins and outs of the business whilst also ensuring the day to day continued. Now 15 months into my role (as of April 2022), I believe this is a testament to not only what I can do, but what I am going to be able to achieve in the near future. I have high aspirations and aim to be one of the best within any positions I have been, I am in or am going to be in. My current role involves managing stock across multiple warehouses, including both coming in and going out. I have a good understanding of our internal system, which I use to book in any new stock that has been shipped in. I liaise often with our larger partners to identify any requirements for their future deliveries, ensuring that these needs are met. Being in charge of all items coming into and leaving the building means I am frequently communicating with the other departments within the business. This is where my previous customers service skills come in handy. Often people forget that the people you work with are actually referred to as 'internal customers'. This is why I always offer a helping hand where needed, and am always happy to assist with any tasks outside of my job role. After a colleague, after many years of assisting, decided they would like to stop transporting items to our annual shows as they are coming up to retirement, I have offered my services no questions asked. This involves physically transporting goods to Birmingham, London, Manchester and Harrogate 4 times a year using a large Luton van. After helping to set up the stand during the week, I then return on the weekend to help pack down the show, and transport the goods back to our main warehouse. I am forklift certified and have recently completed my NCFE level 2 course in the principles of warehousing and storage.
