As the Mine Superintendent of the Alexco Keno Hill Mine, I am responsible for the safe planning and execution of all underground production and development targets. In addition, I oversee our projects, contractors and the underground maintenance department. I am a member of the management team overseeing 3 underground portals in a diverse and challenging Yukon environment.I am a motivated and highly dedicated leader & coach with a large portion of my time spent on evaluating workplace hazards and conducting proper risk assessments to ensure that our employees can safely complete their tasks with zero harm to personnel, processes, environment and equipment. I enjoy coaching and mentoring supervision and seeing them develop both themselves and their crews. I was selected by my peers to receive the “Authentic Leadership” award in both 2018 and 2019 and I have been heavily involved in the safety culture through my work as the management co-chair for the JOHS committee and as a briefing officer on the Mine Rescue Competition Team.I believe that "most" employees will only reach as high as their leaders place the bar and so we need to lead by example, placing the Bar High and helping our employees to reach the goal.
