I am extremely passionate about making a positive impact on my client’s bottom line. Being with RTi for the past 17 years and in the plastics industry since 1982 has allowed me to witness many changes – one being that resin no longer sells for $0.20/lb. As a Sr. Vice President at RTi I manage the day to day business activities of the Resin Processor Group, which includes approximately 100 clients and 14 billion pounds of transactional visibility in the resin markets. Focusing on total resin management, my job (RTi’s job) is making sure the client is paying the right price for the resins procured. My team and I stay engaged to global resin markets identifying best-in-class pricing on all resin grades, supplier actions, feedstock inventories and pricing, polymer inventories as well as import/export information.Resin is the most critical cost item in a processors business ranging from 40 – 85% of the total cost of goods – demanding a focus! Resin markets are non-transparent and extremely volatile. My job is to make sure our clients consistently know the right price for the resin they consume, when and when not to buy and lastly, who to buy from. Information, not volume, ensures processors they are making the right choice to create a positive impact on the bottom line.
