Hey! My name is Samuel (Sam) Beckmann. I am a rising fifth-year Bachelors and Masters in Game Design and Development at RIT. Throughout my life, I have played video games, and one day I hope to work on a game that the player can play for years, a game that will make the player want to play more! I am eager to work and learn more from peers and colleagues. Throughout my studies, I have learned programming in C#, C++, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Java. Since coming to college, I have been learning more skills in the design portion of Game Design, such as Unreal Engine 5, Unity, Maya, and Photoshop. I really enjoy making games not just by myself, but in group settings as well as I enjoy coordinating teams so that we are able to make the best game possible. Currently, I am looking for an internship or full time opportunity that begins in the summer or fall of 2024, where I am able to not only learn from those already in the industry but to leave a lasting contribution to a project.

Some of my main contributions to the project were restructuring the data to a SOA format alongside an ECS format for the cards to allow for better performance upon networking, creation of a csv reader to input cards and scenarios, and building the map based upon a user-entered number of facilities adhering to common infrastructure patterns.
