I am the rights manager at Rebellion Publishing, handling global translation rights across all of their lists. This covers sci-fi and fantasy fiction at Solaris, comics both new and classic at 2000AD and the Treasury of British Comics, and board games at Unplugged.

As Rights Executive at HarperCollins my duties included selling translation rights in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Turkey, and South East Asia across Harper's lists, licensing serialisations in newspapers and magazines, and managing co-edition reprints.

I worked in the rights department at Egmont Books UK in a tight-knit team selling co-editions and rights deals across a variety of genres of children's literature. I project managed all of our co-editions, organised and scheduled our book fairs, and sold the Welsh, Irish Gaelic, Scottish Gaelic, stage adaptation, and audio rights to our books.

My partner and I promoted gigs at various venues across London including The Windmill, The Shacklewell Arms, and Moth Club. We built a reputation for putting on only the most urgent, vital new bands and strove to always keep our shows inclusive and representative.

I put on monthly nights at renowned Shoreditch recording studio cum bar, kitchen, and gig venue Strongroom. Each month was curated to according to a particular striking characteristic or elusive mood that each act on the bill shares, and I took pride in putting forward new acts that need to be heard and collaborating fully with the artists.

I worked as a bartender, waiter, and general front-of-house worker at this busy, well-regarded canalside pub.

I took on a temporary role as rights assistant at Macmillan after a successful two weeks of work experience in the company. I learned hands-on about the co-ordination of co-editions, rights sales and publishing contract law.

Independently scouted and pitched artists on digital PR campaigns for their releases. Managed, co-ordinated, and created all of my own campaigns for numerous bands, as well as creating content for other campaigns that my colleagues were running. Operated remotely - Dewar is based in Canada, and I worked from home in London, UK.
