Researched methods for viral protein capsid design via large language models. Lead exploration of new model class and fine-tuning methods for predicting high-scoring protein sequences and demonstrated improvements over previous methods. Worked on scaling to multi-gpu and multi-node training.

Self-taught quantum computing via Nielsen & Chuang 20-25 hours a week. Weekly meeting with advisor. Covered concepts including quantum mechanics, complexity, computation, and information and cryptography culminating in end-of-term symposium presentation.

Summer 2021: built tools to dissect and visualize neural networks at the level of individual neurons in an effort to identify differences in networks trained on synthetic (GAN-generated data) vs those trained on real dataFall 2020: built and tested a navigation system and planner that predicts top-down views from monocular images and that is robust to novelty, created a framework to allow for quick visualization and analysis through saliency maps, entropy methods etc. Summer 2020: conducted 20-30 hours of weekly research on building navigation systems robust to novelty. Built A2C, PPO and other state-of-the-art reinforcement learning algorithms from scratch and presented my work each week
