Smithton High School

I worked at Smithton High school, on the North West of Tasmania as a grade 10 Core Teacher, Drama, English, History and Geography Teacher. I have developed a new Drama programs for 7 and 8s, as well as help start up the mini theatre which resulted in the first School Production in nearly 10years. I have developed grade 7 and 10 English, grade 7, 8, 9 and 10 History and Geography. In 2017 I won a Regional Teaching Mentorship Scholarship with the Bell Shakespeare Company; working through out 2017 learning about Shakespeare within schools, writing a unit plan for grade 8 Drama. I have networked with 15 other teachers from regional Australia, as well as helping current teachers at SHS to learn how to bring Shakespeare to life within the English Classroom, giving them and the students a positive experience with a literature great.

I worked at Rosebery District High School, on the West Coast of Tasmania, as a English, Drama, Home economics Teacher and grade 8 Core Teacher. During my 12 month appointment I worked with literacy specialist and ASTs on Individual Education Plans; planning English program for grade 8 and 9 students; 7-10 Home Economics, a Catering Program that professionally catered for community functions, secure funding for the new project; and a 7 and 8 Drama program, which was a first for RDHS in nearly 10 years.
