Professional driver utilising catagory D license and CPC. I operate a double deck PSV daily ensuring the safe transport of up to 80 passengers. I regularly assist the training department as a supervising driver, helping newly qualified drivers get to grips with our different vehicle types, routes, ticketing and vehicle defecting system. Sometimes I could be supervising a new driver on their very first day driving a vehicle in service. I am currently the rota rep for my rota and was voted for by colleagues, acting as the voice and representative of 26 other drivers on my rota. I attend 2 meetings a year with the service planning department to raise issues around timings on routes and concerns or questions from my colleagues.

Assisting customers with technical queries, taking bookings for the workshop and completing warranty claims on behalf of customers I would ensure that the correct and maximum amount of time and parts were claimed for.. Creating and updating customer and vehicle records, giving progress reports to customers on their warranty claims and ongoing work on their vehicles in our workshop. I also worked as a workshop controller, ensuring all technicians were assigned the correct work, that job cards were complete and detailed and that they understood what work was required and that the correct vehicle was in their assigned bay ready for them to start work. I was responsible for inspecting this work before being returned to the customer to ensure all JC items were complete to the highest standard. I checked that the correct amount of workshop time was sold to the job to ensure complete efficiency in paid and warranty time.

As well as my other permanent roles, I was chosen to help at sales shows such as the Caravan & Motorhome shows in Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. This involved qualifying customers for a sale and encouraging them to speak with a sales colleague to finalise their purchase. I would ensure the customer was looking to make a purchase on the day and assist them in finding which model would suit their requirements, then take them over to the sales area and hand them over to sales people who would use my information to finalise figures and financing options. I achieved an award for top salesperson on 3 occasions with my best performance being 20 units at the NEC in 2017. I would also assist in sales events on site at the dealership when required. As part of my vehicle handover role I would complete a pre collection call with the customer and would look to make a sale of add on products such as Diamondbrite paint protection and in used cases an upgraded warranty plan.

Inspecting new and used vehicles before handing over to the customer and giving a full demonstration of all the features and systems such as technical systems, heating and how to safely hitch up to their tow vehicle and safely tow on the road. I was 'the last line of defence' in ensuring that every vehicle was thoroughly inspected, serviced, cleaned and presented ready for the customer to collect. The vehicle would be fully set up as if it were on a camp site to show every single working part in good order. It was often said that the handover experience would determine the future relationship between the dealer and the customer so attention to detail was absolutely essential.This role was very much teaching customers to use their new caravan or motorhome and ensuring they could leave the dealership and head straight on holiday, which many did. Due to the amount of information customers would be taking in all in one go we would often receive a high number of calls in the days after collection with questions and queries. To tackle this I taught myself to edit videos, purchased an iPhone tripod and set to work creating a series of useful video tutorials onto the company’s YouTube channel. The link would be given to the customer before they left to ensure they had even more confidence in using their new vehicle, particularly during out of work hours.
