I am the Co-Founder and Designer for Sonder Midwest, a literary magazine aimed for new and emerging writers. I also am a workshop leader and designer of the literary magazine The Atlas (MWC Press). I focus heavily on teaching the craft of writing while also perfecting my own work. In the event world, I am an Assistant Technical Director with EMDH Production Service at Illinois State. I focus on providing excellent customer service while working with students to set up events and maintain all of our audio, lighting, and video equipment. I am also a Lighting Designer for The Castle Theatre where I collaborate with touring artist to aid and run lighting equipment during shows. My work as a scholar and writer is focused on the human experience. In a world where many of us are focused on just getting from one task to the next, life often flies by. My goal with my work is to help people slow down and experience what it means to be human. Among the many other issues in the world right now, one of the main issues I deal with is the numbness that comes with the experience of tragedy. Between jobs, families, and friends, the harder emotions in life are often shoved to the back burner by social pressure to “get back to normal”. My work focuses on grief, loss, bereavement, depression, anxiety.
