Sam joined Cash Converters (ASX:CCV) in 2016 as Chief Operating Officer, was promoted to the role of Chief Executive Officer in 2019 and Managing Director in 2020. Prior to joining Cash Converters Sam was Chief Operating Officer at stockbroking and wealth management firm Patersons Securities (now Canaccord Genuity) and prior to that Chief Operating Officer for Barclays Capital Financial Risk Management business across Asia, based in Singapore. Earlier in Sam's career he was responsible for change management roles across the operations and credit risk divisions of global investment banks UBS, Deutsche Bank and Barclays Capital working offshore (in London, New York and Singapore) for over a decade. Sam is currently executing a strategy focused on positioning Cash Converters as the largest non bank lender in its markets, leveraging AI powered credit models to enable an exit from the payday loan market, for the first time offering non conforming borrowers new, lower cost loan options. Driving new product development and acquiring franchise stores in the core markets for the business of Australia and the UK, Cashies is the largest regulated operator offering customers a safe and regulated credit option, processing on average over 70,000 aplications for personal loans per month.Sam has a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA from the University of Western Australia and has completed a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment and the Company Directors course (GAICD).
