Relocated in the midst of the pandemic August 2020 to Paisley Renfrewshire, taking up a unique opportunity to work on a project to develop technical skills in product development. The project is part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership, which brings the latest academic thinking (in this case from UWS) to deliver a specific, strategic innovative project. The innovative nature of this project offered plenty of opportunities to step out of comfort zones and take on brand new and new challenges. These challenges required quick learning curves and garnering new skills and techniques required for the lift industry. • Working with academic teams and directly with the company chairman to ensure the key requirements for the design meet the business expectations, while also working within all design limitation • Completing large interactive design assemblies with multiple interdependent sub-assemblies and parts • Working with multiple design configurations to create modular design framework to meet different design requirements and specifications• Learnt and understand lift standards (EN81-20, EN81-50 and EN81-41) on the job in order to adhere to their specific design requirements • Several structural static analyses completed on sub-assemblies and specific componentry to ensure they meet permissible forces applied to them, keeping to acceptable safety factors• Completed hand calculations based on specific mechanical formulas that are provided as part of the lift standards.

In my role I am heavily involved in new product development with both technical, product management and project management responsibilities, supporting the company’s strategic goals to expand our product line within an increasingly saturated market. I am also a member of the companies ‘Inclusion and Diversity’ team, helping to build an inclusive framework within our division and participating in several ‘RIC’s’ (regional inclusion councils). I am responsible to construct and develop C.A.D for our security products which include those for our OEM customers. I also act as project manager for a number of key projects; as well taking on key tasks on behalf of product management, building business cases, gaining essential VOC. I work daily with key steak-holders within product management, NPI, operations, sales and marketing but also third party suppliers, designers and manufacturers.Key achievements and responsibilities include:• Was an EATON representative at the first European STEM event held in London may 2017• Managing our CAD files for both NPD projects and legacy products, dealing through conception of design, development phase, manufacture and final production • Managed key ‘top 25’ projects that involve working with cross functional teams including product management, sales, marketing, R&D, NPI, operations, sourcing and quality• Conducted VOC with our sales team to further understand the needs and requirements for a number of our upcoming projects• Report-out to senior and divisional management on NPD including design and progress reports on projects, ultimately presenting final gate reviews• Mentor several of our interns, including constructing presentations on project management structure and processes • Use of ERP systems to create BOM’s, change requests, to create new product and manage revisions of new parts and CAD• Dealing with our crucial OEM customers through the design process and ultimately to launch

As a graduate on the Cooper/EATON ‘technical leadership program’ I spent two years acting as a project manager in the ‘Life Safety’ division of EATON, within the Electrical sector. I was actively involved in the product development of several projects, internal as well as for OEM's.As project manager for key projects for both Security and Fire divisions I have worked with teams on site, external and elsewhere in EMEA, within the matrix system applied at EATON. I liaised daily with key stakeholders within product management, NPI, operations, sales and marketing in order to meet project deliverables and ensure complete inclusion within the team.Achievements:• Performed and managed several FMEA's during project life cycles, including Design, Process and also carried the procedure over to Sales and Marketing for a top level project, as a lesson learnt exercise • Acted as PM within difficult environments, with one project in particular involving a continually changing project team spread between Cwmbran, Doncaster and Mitcheldean, with a large section of the R&D team moving from our Mitcheldean site to Cwmbran during the project life cycle • Managing a project for a new security product within contrasting VOC regions, ensuring critical input from our EMEA product managers to ensure the best possible output for the product• Working with a 3rd party design house in my capacity as a project manager and product designer, to communicate design changes and manage prompt design release• Presenting gate reviews to key stakeholders (MD and Director Level), and new business cases for new VAVE projects• Regularly communication between external manufacturers in China, Romania and Poland, facilitating design change requests, new product development and managing construction of new moulding tools• Developing CAD designs to be capable of being manufactured through injection moulding and minimising defects such as sink marks
