First Line Support
CurrentI started out as an apprentice doing a level 3 azure cloud specialist qualification, unfortunately due to an issue with the apprentice provider I decided to exit my apprenticeship without finishing so that I could focus completely on my job role.Since January last year I have been garnering experience as a first line help desk technician. This involves fielding incoming calls and ticket management via Connectwise Manage.During my time here so far I have developed an understanding of Networking (I am currently working towards passing CompTIA Network+), additionaly I have passed the Microsoft AZ-900 Azure fundamentals certifications. I have hands on experience with a variety of vendor tools to manage client infrastructures. This ranges from Microsoft AD DS, Entra ID, Azure and Defender for domain and user management, email security via Mimecast and PowerDMARC as well as network management using the likes of draytek, fortigate and unifi switches and routers. I have also done the occasional site visit to do work on client server cabinets, such as switching out routers/switches, swapping the UPS and patch cable management etc.During my time working as a help desk technician I have found a passion for the security element and have been developing my skill set in this by passing the ISC2 CC (certified in cyber) as well as Microsoft SC-900 (Security and compliance fundamentals). Due to my interest in this I have been offered opportunities to get a bit more involved in security aspects of the business outside of my help desk role. This comes in a few tasks I have been managing such as running PS scripts for Entra ID/Microsoft Graph and On premise AD to monitor Cyber Essential client compliance in regards to users, such as making sure Conditional Access is set up and users have MFA etc. As well as using Cyber smart active protect to monitor device compliance as per CE's 5 controls and remediate any that fall out of compliance.
