Over the past two years I’ve developed my skills in the Photolithography department extensively. I am now one of a few staff fully trained on every tool in both the Align and Metrology areas. I am also entrusted with planning and delegating the workload when our departments planner is on leave, and I have also trained several new staff members on our processing tools and demonstrated and explained how the fab operates in general. Due to my experience, my role can change on a daily basis. More recently I’ve been working within the inspection area, undertaking quality control, using microscopes to spot defects on devices, ensuring our customers get efficient and reliable products every time.

In February of 2019 I began my Manufacturing apprenticeship with Nexperia. A global giant in the semiconductor industry. This involved a lot of training at the start including basic health and safety training, COSHH training, wafer handling and other training modules. After completing several pieces of coursework and gaining a Level 2 Certificate in Manufacturing Practices and a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Manufacturing Operations; I began training on several processing tools within the Align area of the Photolithography Department. By the end of the year, I’d completed my apprenticeship, was fully trained on all equipment in Align and was given a permanent contract.

During my two month Internship at Altinet UK I Helped with tasks throughout several departments including Admin, Marketing & HR.The Internship was predominantly marketing focused, as this has always been an area of interest for me. When it came to this side of the business, Altinet UK gave me all the support and resources I could have wanted whilst at the same time entrusting me and giving me a great amount of responsibility which enabled me to learn so much more.My responsibilities included producing an internal news bulletin. This would be filled with the worlds latest news and trends in the Internet Security sector and would be sent out to all staff on a weekly basis.I also looked closely at the companies existing Case Studies before being asked to produce several of my own. I enjoyed collecting information from the sales team, the technicians and everyone else involved in order to produce a well rounded, informative and appealing advertisement for all potential clients. Overall, Altinet gave me a great taste of a Marketing assistant role and I made great professional relationships during my short time with the company.
