Currently, determining how the integration of gene regulatory networks, cell signaling events, and metabolism leads to biological outputs, such as cell proliferation (in health or disease), remains a grand challenge in biomedical science. It is my philosophy that the comprehensive quantification of biomolecules (so-called "omics" approaches), coupled with detailed computational analysis, will make huge strides towards the understanding of these interconnected networks, and how they go awry in disease states such as cancer, in the upcoming decades. I am excited to be a part of this process, and utilize new technology (transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics/lipidomics) and cutting-edge data analytics to advance the understanding, and ultimately treatment, of cancer.
