As a Product Designer at CarMax, I am responsible for translating complex customer and business needs into simple and elegant user experiences through our internal and external digital products. I am responsible for leading our teams UX research to help understand our customers needs, opportunities and pain points. That research includes both qualitative and quantitive discovery such as user interviews, surveys, ethn.io sessions, moderated and unmoderated user tests, target tests, etc. I am also responsible for creating all visual artifacts such as wireframes, personas, user flow diagrams, journey maps, service blueprints, prototypes and final UI design.

As the Director of Digital Delivery at a startup, I was responsible for performing many different roles. I acted as the primary conduit between our clients and our off-shore development team. Was responsible for all project management including the initial discovery, project sow and client management. However, my primary role was leading our product UX/UI design. As the lead designer, I was responsible for creating wireframes, user flows and final visual designs for all client products. I had the privilege of working with clients ranging from Fortune 200 companies through start-ups such as Nexaware, Altria Inc. and the Virginia Community College System.One of my most memorable projects was creating the conversational design for a chatbot called Kelasa, meaning “work”. 'Kel' is a friendly chatbot that integrates Workfront (a SASS project management tool) with Slack. The chatbot was created to push notifications to you via slack when progress on your projects in Workfront have been made. It was an easy, automated way to keep the team informed on what tasks have been completed and what work still needs to be done.

As the Assistant Product Designer I was responsible leading trend research, assisting with product design and managing production cycles for 6 successful collections. Managed the communication between New York and China design and development teams. Acted as a thought leader for our junior brand Circus by Sam Edelman by introducing new ideas for improving brand awareness within the market.
