I am currently employed as the Director of Safety Culture Programs for the Shortline Safety Institute. I have a diverse background of Law Enforcement and Railroad experience. I have over 22 years of railroad safety operations experience to the Safety Institute. I have spent 10 years working in law enforcement in many capacities including highway narcotics interdiction and criminal investigations as a lieutenant with an agency in Texas. Following my Law Enforcement career, I joined Omnitrax and started at the Alliance Texas BNSF Intermodal Facility. I served there as a Conductor, Engineer, Trainmaster, Superintendent of Operations and General Manager. I then went on to another Omnitrax property, the Panhandle Northern Railroad as General Manager. Then I took over as Divisional General Manager for Omnitrax with direct oversight of six railroads in the United States. This included Safety, Operations, Financial Oversight, HR responsibilities and Labor Relations with both the BLET and UTU. I have served on the Omnitrax Safety Audit Team and audited multiple Railroads across the US and Canada. In 2009, I was awarded the ASLRRA Safety Person of the Year award and the Panhandle Northern was awarded the ASLRRA Most Improved Railroad award.
