Sam established Sam Crawford Architects (SCA) in 1999. Under Sam’s leadership, SCA has gained a national reputation for design excellence, which is evident in the number, quality and range of projects it has completed. Sam’s design integrity ensures that SCA delivers environmentally and socially responsible architecture, drawing to the practice like-minded individuals. Sam has lectured and been a guest design critic at the University of Sydney, the University of NSW, University of Technology Sydney and the University of Newcastle. He is a regular speaker at and contributor to architectural and community forums and events around Australia. He was a Co-Creative Director of the 2014 AIA National Architecture Conference in Perth, Western Australia.His work has been widely published, nationally and internationally. He has been the recipient of numerous local, state and national architecture awards, and is currently a member of the Australian Institute of Architects NSW Chapter Council, the Government Architect NSW State Design Review Panel, and co-chair of the AIA NSW Medium Practice Forum.Sam Crawford Architects works across multiple sectors including single houses, multi-residential, commercial, public and education projects.
