From taking over as president in 2014 I worked with Marcin Gorny and Alex Morton to run the weekly teaching sessions and begin promoting the magicians in Magic Society for events. As well as rebuilding the website and designing training material for future years introductory sessions, I completely remade the documentation and systems for booking clients to avoid the non-payment issues and confusion that had been present in the previous years.I preformed at a range of balls, functions and events introducing myself to groups of up to 15 people at a time. Unsurprisingly this forced me fully out of my comfort zone and introversion in short order.One of the most important things I learnt from working in these areas was the importance of dedicated practice in front of people as well as in front of the mirror. Getting honest feedback (and not taking it personally) is now one of the things I seek out in everything that I do.
