I have worked with clients at conceptual design stage to evaluate the merits of working with different materials and build methods. Through analysis of thermal modelling I can help clients to maximise the efficiency of their buildings by optimising the building fabric to balance performance and cost. I have helped implement a new quality management system audited to ISO9001 and now manage a small team of designers and engineers. Show less

In a young company my responsibilities were extremely diverse. I developed structural insulated panel (SIP) and timber frame design for residential, educational and healthcare developments Project co-ordination involved following the projects from quote through design to manufacture then delivery and installation. I provided a single point of contact for the client and liaised with the architect and structural engineer to develop the design through to completion.

Extending my responsibilities to senior designer involved reviewing and approving colleagues' work as part of a sign-off process. I was engaged in product development, working with accreditation bodies and the subsequent development of technical documentation.

My role as a designer saw me develop timber roof, floor and wall designs for customers as well as providing software support and training. I developed skills in 2D and 3D design, technical drawing, structural design as well as developing customer relationships. I delivered software training to new customers and delivered upgrades to existing ones.
