Heading up Hydrock's Northern transport team I am a chartered transport planner with over 20 years experience in the industry and as a result I have significant levels of understanding of working with land owners, developers, professional partners and statutory bodies.I am an accomplished and experienced project director leading transport planning teams of differing experience levels in delivering a varied range of projects including site access and feasibility assessments, capacity assessment, development of parking layouts for urban development and the identification of both physical and technical measures to mitigate the potential impacts of development related traffic. For over 12 years I also played a key contact in the Highway Agency's (now England) call off consultancy team. My role involved being hands-on in reviewing small and large scale planning applications for all types of schemes. Such reviews took the form of consideration of detailed Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and modelling studies. As a consequence of these experiences I have developed a broad understanding of the current policy’s of the DfT circulars, DMRB, associated planning and development issues, as well as a working knowledge of Highways England's processes, procedures and drivers critical to delivery.Although predominantly northwest focused I have worked on projects throughout the country including working on development studies in London, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland.Specialties: I have an in-depth awareness of the computer junction modelling packages ARCADY, PICADY, TRANSYT, LINSIG and LINSAT which I use to determine traffic capacity at junctions and signalised networks. Also as part of a study for the application for funding for a road funding scheme I have had experience in the use and application of the COBA traffic-modelling package while utilising TEMpro growth factors to determine the relative future year benefit for the scheme.
