I am a computer science Graduate from Edinburgh Napier University, where I am pursuing a BSc honours degree with a focus on data science and artificial intelligence. I have a passion for learning new technologies and applying them to real-world problems.I have gained valuable hands-on experience as a data center assistant at EPCC, the UK's leading supercomputing centre. There, I assisted with various tasks such as debugging information screens, iso document standardisation, and routine checks on supporting systems. I also learned how to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, communicate effectively with different stakeholders, and adhere to high standards of safety and security.

Data AnalystBrambles Jun 2024 - PresentGreater Manchester, England, United KingdomFollowing my training at Mthree/Wiley-Edge I have started working as a data analyst at BXB Digital:As a Data Analyst / Data Visualisation engineer, it is my responsibility to create & maintain Power BI dashboards to provide insights into the movement & reclamation of pooled handling equipment.Brambles strives to reduce supply chain waste by maintaining & reusing its equipment, I care very much about the environment so, the opportunity to contribute to reducing the number of trees cut down & plastic produced has been fantastic.By tracking to movements of pallets with QR codes & GPS devices, brambles digital can collect and analyse data around the condition of perishable goods & by understanding the temperature & time taken during transit along with additional data used to diagnose the cause of these issues, it is possible to reduce food waste, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable economy.Much of my work requires proficiently in Power BI, Power Pivot, SQL & DAX as well as an understanding of data visualisation best practices.I have been engaging in a review of Brambles' data visualisation standards & will be responsible for implementing any changes made in power BI -
Software Developer TraineeWiley Edge Mar 2024 - Apr 20247 Week Program Learning about Java, SQL & one more Tech Skill (probably Scala)This program Focuses heavily on teamwork... Trainees are required to create multi layered applications together using GitHub.I've been able to greatly improve my programming skills and knowledge. As of writing this in my 3rd week, I would say my biggest improvements have been in git/group working, areas that universities often leave for the industry to impart to graduates.Additionally I had the opportunity to take courses on finance & python. In the finance course I learned about the workings of financial institutions such as banks & investment firms, the course heavily emphasised the importance of regulatory compliance. For my final python project, I analysed a dataset containing the top 1000 YouTube channels, with data such as total subscribers, views, county, channel creation date, content category, etc.Much of my analysis focused on the difference between total subscribers and views... more recent channels tended to have more views than old.channels but fewer subscribers... this implied that the modern viewing landscape is geared towards a less invested viewership who would rather 'pop in' to watch a video instead of waiting for an upload from a particular creator...

Data Center AssistantEpcc Jun 2022 - Jul 2022Edinburgh, Scotland, United KingdomMy Duties Included:-General assistance around the office-Manning the reception desk, this largely involved assessing where the visitor/contractor would be going during the day and assigning their visitor card accordingly... at the end of the day I would also track down any unreturned cards, disabling any that could not be found. -Handling deliveries, this ranged from smaller deliveries (which could be brought straight to whichever member of staff was specified on the parcel) to pallets to be dropped off at one of the loading bays and moved to their appropriate storage location.-Routine checks in the 'Plant Rooms' required to opperate the computers (e.g. coolant, power supply, etc)-Running underfloor network cables from one rack to another, this task was fairly physically demanding, requiring us to lift several 25kg floor tiles, crawling underneath and repeating... great care was taken especially when running fibre optic cables as they are both expensive and fragile-Cataloging IP addresses of IPDUs, at this time, the data centre was implementing a new system for tracking power usage of particular racks where each PDU was networked, allowing staff to view power usage data from their computer. This task involved going to the physical location of the IPDU, and finding the IP address on the screen on its side... unfortunately some of the screens were broken, eventually we found that a custom made serial cable with a RJ45 connector could be used to connect a laptop to the PDU and ascertain its IP address.-I wrote some emergency procedure documentation for an ISO 22301 certification.-The site had several visitor information screens (each connected to a networked raspberry pi) dotted around which had broken down over time, I went to each of them and solved whatever issue they were facing, this involved reinstalling the OS, replacing cables & tracking down the other end of the Ethernet cable on device was plugged into and working out the correct static IP address -

Team MemberKfc Uk & Ireland Aug 2021 - Sep 2021Edinburgh, Scotland, United KingdomMiddle of House, my job was to largely assemble meals such as burgers, wraps, etc. Due to the location of the shop in the centre of Edinburgh close to several pubs it was not uncommon for a large number of orders to come in all at once. I was expected to fufill orders within two minutes while sticking to consistant recipes. This was a high intensity position requiring me to stay in work until 2-3am remaining in constant communication with my colleagues while fulfilling orders
