Genpact is a global professional services firm delivering digital transformation by putting digital and data to work to create competitive advantageI was recruited to manage a complex project to migrate the company’s warehouse and supply chain functions to a new provider across six sites. To achieve this, I have managed site closures, stock, and equipment transfers, streamlined processes, implemented new IT systems and trained staff in the new systems, procedures and processes. My key contributions have included: ♦ Delivering significant efficiency gains through streamlined processes, moving to lower cost locations, and using less space with less people♦ End to end project management, including project planning, reporting, and cross business communication♦ Managing the construction of new of $500k QA facility which led to less overtime, streamlined processes, enhanced workflow, and lower utilities costs, while ensuring regulatory compliance♦ Ongoing day to day management of the 3PL and transport providers, troubleshooting and root cause analysis to provide long term solutions ♦ Structure and maintain the 3PL budget to ensure accurate month on month billing targets were met and highlight variable/activity trends♦ Reviewed the company’s warehouse SOPs and KPIs with a focus on GWP which enables new staff to rapidly become productive, reduced lead times and introduced standardised documents in line with global ideals.♦ Worked with teams across the business to identify process gaps, researched and shown where systems can be utilised from other areas of the business to reduce current manual processes and drive standardisation

Ecolab provides water treatment chemicals, sanitary products and soap dispensers.I was promoted to this role to implement warehouse management and transport management systems at three manufacturing and warehousing facilities producing and storing dangerous goods. My contributions included:♦ Ensuring that the new systems integrated with the existing ERP system while minimising downtime for sales♦ Coordinating user training, devising new processes and practices, and managing the change process while ensuring that staff committed to using the new systems♦ Overseeing contractors to update the IT infrastructure, redesign warehouse racking, install barcodes, improve space utilisation and introduce new types of forklifts♦ Improving an off-the-shelf system to suit the requirements of the business and its unique environment♦ Restructuring the racking and implementing barcodes to optimise space, reduce costs, eliminate wasted space and accurately track stock movements♦ Improving efficiency, productivity and accuracy through handheld RF units

Botany

In addition to the day-to-day management, my mandate was to oversee the shutdown and relocation of a 30,000 sqm dangerous goods warehouse with 3,000+ SKUs. Key challenges included managing redundancies, disposing stock, while managing the logistics of the transfer, managing unionised workforce. Major contributions included:♦ Achieving zero lost time injuries and improving productivity following the implementation of improvements in forklift safety and maintenance♦ Reducing costs, saving space and optimising space utilisation by overhauling the design of the warehouse, and restructuring the racking to store additional SKUs♦ Improving space utilisation and efficiency while delivering savings of $5k a week after overhauling the distribution procedures for 3PL vehicles on site

CDS Foods was a division of Nestle supplying high end restaurants with ready to consume foods.In managing the company’s warehouse, I coordinated and supervised delivery drivers, oversaw all aspects of the warehouse’s operations, sourced 3PL providers, managed supplier rates and contracts, and led the design and installation of chiller and freezer racking. My main contributions included:♦ Reducing the number of vehicles and drivers required by optimising the routing plan and map for deliveries.♦ Improved delivery times for high profile sporting events by working with sales managers to coordinate deliveries and optimise driver utilisation more efficiently.♦ Increased vehicle availability through comprehensive maintenance, servicing, and repair plans♦ Maintaining HACCP and food safety standards through food safety audits and preparing the warehouse for external audits♦ Optimising space utilisation by re-organising the chiller and freezer areas♦ Negotiating new delivery schedules to improve supplier performance
