Ahoy! Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read up about me. I got into Bachelor of Digital Media straight out of high school and I knew right then and there that I was probably going to be wasting the next three years of my life. Don’t get me wrong, graphic design is great but at the time what I really wanted to get into was entertainment design. However, life is full of clichés, and what do you know, I grew to love Graphic design. As a form of aesthetic communication; with all its rules and guidelines for functionality, and space for creativity, I discovered it was a match made in heaven.However it wasn't all smooth sailing, web design has been a thorn in my side from the get-go, and to be entirely honest, I still wanted to be an illustrator/ concept artist, which lead me to doubt myself and my choices. At that point I said to myself, I said, “Sam, what you doin’ with cho’ self?” I said, “Sam, you better toughen up and figure out a way to fix this situation! Pickles don’t eat themselves and you only got one year of uni left!” Thus began a delicious, nutritious, tasty exploration into illustration and typography. Actually I hate pickles, so that was a bad analogy, anyways, I'm now getting better at incorporating my own ‘style’ (I guess?) into my work and am looking for ways to make the transition from traditional to digital less painful and more streamlined. Graduating from Digital Media I am now going to endure Bachelor of Animation, majoring in Art Direction, but that’s another story for another time!
