I am a long time child welfare social worker. I have been working primarily in the child welfare field for the past 35 years. The majority of those years has been in Tucson, Arizona. I have specialized in the areas of child abuse and neglect, foster care, adoption and children/adults with with special needs. I am currently the Executive Director of a foster care and adoption agency, A Place to Call Home. I am located in Tucson but we also have offices in Mesa and Prescott Valley, AZ. Our parent company is ResCare Residential Services, AZ and their parent company is BrightSpring Health Services, based out of Louisville, Kentucky. I began my career working for the Sate of Texas at a residential facility for Developmentally Delayed adults. I then moved to Arizona and worked for Child Protective Services (now called the Division of Child Safety). I had a brief 2 year stay in Arkansas working at the Arkansas Children's Hospital is a Forensic Interviewer at their Child Advocacy Center before moving back to Arizona and going back to work at CPS. In 1995 I transitioned from working for the State of Arizona to working at Tucson's favorite charity, Casa de los Ninos. I began working as the Social Work Supervisor in the Children's Shelter and was then given an opportunity to start a foster care program which I continued supervising until I left in 2012. From 2012 until 2015, my wife and I ventured into owning a Farmers Insurance agency. The call back into social services finally got the better of me in 2015 when I accepted my current position as the Executive Director of A Place to Call Home.
