The first time I had a hiring day, we expected 7 people. It was supposed to be an easy transition for me to practice and apply my new interviewing skills. What actually had happened was I had 50 people waiting for interviews. 50 people, who had no idea that I was still on my first solo interview. It was a trial by fire situation, and frankly, it made me the type of hiring person I am. I'm attentive to details, loyal to a fault, and love helping people. This helped me develop some great talent at McDonald's, and recognize the type of talent people are searching for in brief interviews. I always look for things that line up with values. I love challenging experiences, solving problems, and identifying gaps in performance. I always strive to do my best, and be better than the day before. I hold myself up to a higher standard, and try relentlessly to tackle any task assigned. Whether that means reaching out for help, or doing deep dives into opportunities to try new solutions. I like to learn, whether it's new industries, or things I'm already adept with, I believe everyone can provide a new perspective. I've been a manager for nearly ten years, I've hired hundreds of people and created the training for that staff. I believe in growing my people, and finding the best talent. Whether that's for my work or yours, feel free to reach out and see if I can help you too.
