Responsible for management of; internal resources, external consultants and contractors, budget, schedule, health and safety and project reporting.• Design of road improvements projects using MX ROAD and AutoCAD to Main Roads WA and Austroads Guidelines. Projects include; intersection improvements, reconstruction, overlay, realignment, widening, drainage design.• Management of project budgets, including; cost estimates, forecasting, accruals and invoicing.• Management of external consultants and contractors including; project scoping, preparation of contract documents and tender assessments.• Project Liaison with key stakeholders, including; local Shires, Service Providers, Clients, local residents and other community groups.• Preparation of Options Analysis Reports and recommendation of preferred or optimum solution to the client.• Also involved with management and execution of; land acquisitions, hydrological investigation, road/rail interface, geotechnical investigation, environmental and heritage approvals, planning.• Currently working towards becoming an accredited Road Safety Auditor.

• Named as the Supervisor under an NEC Contract delivering a £4M Highway Improvement scheme in Cambridge City Centre on the Cambridgeshire Highways contract. Close liaison between the Client (Cambridge County Council) and the Contractor (Balfour Beatty) ensured that the scheme was the first in a 5 year framework contract to come in on budget and within schedule.• Chairing of weekly progress meetings, planning of works, site inductions, chairing weekly safety meetings, assessment of compensation claims, management of change control, approval of method statements and risk assessments.• Negotiations with service providers to plan and engineer the installation of services into new developments.• Project Design & Management of Highway and Infrastructure schemes up to £4M works value for the Highways Agency and Transport for London. Working on politically sensitive schemes with a number of stakeholders involved.• Design and Delivery of a number of small works design packages under short timescales. Coordination of internationally based design specialists.• Technical engineering support and checking of design drawing and specifications prior to issue.

• Lead designer on a highway improvement schemes for a private developers and Transport Scotland including; pavement design, intersection and access road design, service diversions, earthworks, drainage design, traffic orders, signs design and design of pedestrian facilities.• Early Contractor Involvement to identify potential design issues that could affect the construction of schemes.• Production of Tender and Construction Drawings and Specifications for Government and third party clients, including tendering workshops for design and construction contracts.• Detailed design of highway improvement schemes, negotiation with service providers and compilation of the design stage Health and Safety Plan.

• Design of highways improvements and maintenance packages from £30k to £1.2M. Areas of design included; Pavement Design, Alignment Design, Vehicle Restraint Systems, Pedestrian Facilities, Drainage Design, Signs and Road Markings and Earthworks.• Production of Design, Tender and Construction Drawings and Specifications for government clients, to be issued to framework contractors for construction. Followed by supervision and engineering support of works on site, including a number of schemes built in an environmentally sensitive area.• Feasibility studies to assess potential works and presentation of recommendations to the client.• Site based engineering support and supervision of a number of major trunk road improvement schemes.
