Served on senior leadership team, making decisions regarding the direction and vision of the Harlem Village Academies school network. Trained and mentored Principals at the elementary and middle school levels. Built the schools from the ground up, including securing the space, hiring teachers, deciding curriculum, and creating the vision for the schools. Implemented innovative literacy curriculum, which led to 85% of founding class testing above grade-level in reading by the end of their first year in the school.

Expanded the school by two grades, hired many new staff members and held a 95% staff retention rate during tenure as Principal. School was widely recognized for its academic results both in print media and on television. 100% of the school’s eighth grade students passed the New York State Algebra Regents Exam in 2010. This was the first time in the history of Harlem as well as the first time in the history of charter schools in New York City that 100% of an eighth grade class passed this exam and earned high school credit.

Served as fifth grade team leader. Created all curriculum, materials, and assessments from scratch using the New York State math standards. Improved math abilities of students who entered school two or three years below grade level so that over 90% of students scored proficient or advanced on the New York State math test. Students routinely scored among the top students in New York State.

Earned highest average class results in school on the New York State math and reading exams. Created an after-school program that boosted reading ability by grouping students according to level and need.

Participated in the University of Notre Dame's Alliance for Catholic Education (A.C.E.) program. Designed and implemented unit plans including cooperative learning, project creation, discussion, and assessments in a variety of subject areas.
