As a student at MSU, I have been pursuing my goal of medical school for the past three years by performing academically as part of the Honors College. To fulfill my desire to help others while in college I have taken positions in Kesem at MSU. As a branch of the national non-profit, we aim to support children in Michigan who are impacted by a parent or caregiver's cancer diagnosis. Personally, I have worked as an operations coordinator, planning our outreach events for families and communicating with the campsite which hosts our two completely free weeks of summer camp. As a volunteer coordinator, I plan and enact volunteer events and recruit new members. While being a student and volunteer, I have taken on a part-time job as a Medical Assistant at Michigan Orthopedic Center. As a Medical Assistant, I support our surgeons, physician assistants, and nurses by obtaining a history of present illness, drawing medication dosages for injection, assisting with ultrasound-guided injections, and more. Eventually I hope to attend Medical School so that I can become a doctor and help improve the lives of my patients.
