In pursuit of this, I used media analysis software to break down coverage of HRW reports to show where our media strategy was performing strongly and where it needed improvement. I grew the following of the press team's Twitter handle (@HRWpress) and worked with another intern to create a regular system for sending press updates through Twitter. I also used social media to find key local journalists and influencers in countries where HRW was working, in order to ensure our reports reached the media markets they covered and a non-Western audience in general.
