Science student graduate, first-year art student, future science illustrator. My passion for the point where science and art meet has brought me to the University of Colorado Illustration program. Last semester I completed my Associate’s of Science from the Community of College in Denver, which covered biology, chemistry, and lab safety.The most valuable lesson I have learned from UCD has been the importance of learning the basics. Even though I know the direction I want my career to take in science illustration, I know that being able to master those fundamentals will be the basis for my future abilities. In addition, my class in the Business of Art is providing me wonderful insight into the ways in which my future will be grounded in the real world.This last year I have become much more proficient in Procreate, drawing, and design. I continue to build skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. This coming year, I’d like to complete an internship that will help me build my portfolio as well as work on more personal projects.
