My current role at Superior is being the graduate structural engineer along with assisting the project manager with day to day activities in project management for a variety of projects. My key duties in the company are outlined below:o Material take off (BOM) for projects before construction phase o Liaise with purchasing officer for procurement of materials for Marina development projectso Liaise with councils to obtain work/site establishment permits on projectso Quality assurance checks on pontoonso Document control for project handover and practical completion of projectso Liaise with on site laborer's on how to make certain construction processes of pontoons more efficient o Material allocations into BOM once certain construction phases are completeo Designed (drafting) Iron-man Triathlon 2016 (Gold Coast) floating pontoon system along with structural and stability calculations for client o Structural calculations for Gangways and finite element analysis using Inventor o Structural and stability calculations/analysis for Pontoon systemso Structural analysis of new pontoon floating system (Waterscape) alongside Derlot o Engineering Design reports alongside Lead Civil Engineer for international clients (UAE)o Created job specific piling analysis spreadsheeto Drafting concept designs for jetties - Melbourne Water Jetty Replacement Program o Drafting construction drawings for jetties - Melbourne Water Jetty Replacement Program I was also appointed as Project Manager for the Melbourne Water - Jetty Replacement Program (2014 - 2015). Civil Project Engineer InternProject consists of redevelopment and major upgrade works of Birkenhead Point Marina in Sydney. Acting as assistant to lead Project Engineer my duties include but not limited to: • Quality assurance: - Checking Pontoon measurements after delivery to site.• Quality control: - Making sure each step in Pontoon construction is adhering to company design/Australian standards. - Conducting daily checks on pontoon checklists to keep them up-to date.• Procurement: - Determining correct amount of materials required and ordering for Pontoon construction from suppliers. • Documentation: - Updating Superior’s soft and hard-copy file registries, filing employee details, filing away relevant drawings of project into document folders to show clients. • Scheduling: - Scheduling when trucks/cranes are arriving to site to lift and transport constructed pontoons to project installation destination.- Determining how much load can be put onto each truck to maximise number of pontoons + accessories sent on each truck delivery. - Creating a pontoon construction schedule for a day-to-day basis to help labourer's keep on track• Liaising with Foreman, Site Managers, Project Engineer, and Labourers to facilitate project related activities• Conducting detailed civil drawings In AutoCAD for project specification.• Helping Labourers on site with concrete prepping/pour on pontoons • Supervising and coordinating safe lifts from one site to another.
