Responsible for the day to day running of a section of University accommodation and the management of staffing to achieve an effective and efficient service for customers. This involves the running of two distinct operations; the first is the running of the student accommodation during the academic year and the second is running the hotel operation during the summer, and successfully planning for this in the preceding months.I am also responsible for managing the Domestic Assistants and Porters in my area and the casual staff used during the summer months. Key duties include the daily work allocation and supervision of permanent and casual staff within my area, including informally addressing any performance or absence concerns, conducting staff training and managing day-to-day HR issues and staff communication.I am also responsible for conducting regular accommodation checks to ensure SLAs are maintained and any issues rectified, maintaining regular contact with students and obtaining feedback, and ensuring students comply with Residential Rules. Stock control, day to day monitoring of the Housekeeping budget, health and safety and energy management are also core areas of the role.My role also requires experience in stock management, an awareness of Health & Safety and have experience in using Microsoft Word and Excel. I need to demonstrate the desire to achieve high standards of service, the ability to motivate and form effective working relationships with team members and the ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
