As a Solution Architect at SystemGroup, Sambit was responsible for client-facing consulting and requirements gathering. As a Solution Architect, Sambit defined solution architecture for enterprise solutions and participated in architectural peer review activities to ensure alignment to the architectural approach. He participated in business development activities such as pre-sales meetings, scoping of services, project estimation and proposal development. As a Solution Architect on a project for a Global Insurance firm, Sambit worked on the business process re-engineering initiative of the client’s underwriting business processes. The business process re-engineering and automation was provided by adopting a multilayered SOA approach and an enterprise service bus (ESB) that integrated a variety of the client’s IT systems, including their policy admin system, underwriting system, broker compensation and management system, illustrations system and SharePoint 2010 document management system. Sambit worked as a Solution Architect on a project involving automation of the business processes of a major utilities distributor in order to integrate successfully with IESO as a part of Ontario’s Smart Metering and Time of Use Billing initiatives. The scope of the project involved automating numerous interfaces between the Customer Information System (Oracle CCB), ELSTER’s Energy Axis Metering Automation Server and Ontario MDMR Solution. It also involved storing and archiving various notifications and MDMR reports into their Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 document management and records management system.
