Intern Analyst - International Cooperation Requests Team
• My position is an Intern Analyst in ASIC’s International Co-operation Requests team which deals with ASIC’s sister organisations in foreign countries. • All outgoing and incoming requests for information will come through this team and we will then pass it on to the relevant team or organisation before returning it to the origin of the request. - We also set up and organise the many foreign delegation visits allowing them to see how ASIC works and operates.• As an Intern Analyst I take on the full workload of a member of the team which involves:- Processing the requests for information from internal and external parties.- Developing and maintaining internal and external stakeholders both domestic and international.- Help with any research or studies into domestic and/or foreign law and regulatory practices.- Help compile any reports or briefs for our stakeholders on the above areas.- Organising, meeting with and facilitating any foreign delegations to ASIC.
Volunteer Co-Ordinator
A job that involves the management of the many volunteers that deliver meals for this branch of Meals on Wheels. This role involves phoning volunteers to confirm their next shift as well as filling in any gaps that may appear. Further, I also field phone calls from whomever calls our office. This ranges from current volunteers and clients to prospective clients, family members and other interested parties. Therefore as well as managing the volunteers I play a significant role in ensuring that the clients are satisfied, dealing with new clients and up keeping our online system where all this information is stored and updated. Finally, when able, I also assist the Co-ordinator in the up keeping of the Food Safety Plans for both the Hornsby Office as well as the Ku-ring-gai Office and Kitchen and with any other of her tasks when required.
Shift Supervisor
This role is one of huge responsibility as,while on shift, a Shift Supervisor is responsible for the store and all employees, customers and their health and safety. While having your own set of tasks, which includes; upholding of food safety and product standards, dealing with customer issues, placing orders, maintaining stock lists, counting of registers and accounting of all money and completion of legally binding paperwork, a Shift Supervisor is also expected to be able to help any other employee on shift if they need it and when they need it. It is therefore an extremely flexible and fast paced role that often requires task prioritisation and the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
Team Member
Originally I was hired as a Cook and this is where I started however over the next 2 years I was rapidly given the opportunity to learn all the different stations of the restaurant. These included the making of burgers and the serving of customers. After remaining in one position long enough to become proficient in it I would be moved on to the next one in an effort to fast track my training and path to Shift Supervisor which I achieved in early 2015, an achievement that was delayed by heading to Europe for a 6 month University exchange for the second half of 2014. Therefore during these 2.5 years the roles and responsibilities changed rapidly and frequently. From a huge food safety, cleanliness focus to one that included an equally important customer relations and customer orientated focus. At the same time there is a heavy focus on teamwork and flexibility as I was called into work on little notice and was ready to work at any station at a moments notice, often helping out at other stations that I was not allocated to work on during my shift.
Work Placement
This was a 50 hours of work placement (done one day a week over 2 months) in ASIC's International Cooperation Requests as a requirement for the university course 'Global Work Project' which was a core subject of my Bachelor of Global Studies at the University of Technology, Sydney. While on this Placement I played a small but active role in the work of the team, often working on some of the projects that the team was fielding and assisting other team members as they worked on their projects. Furthermore, I also moved from task to task depending on the workload that anyone one person had and where assistance was needed.
